Rail system, preferably for a stable with a number of paths
The field of production
The present invention relates to a rail system, preferably to a stable with a plurality of paths, comprising a continuous suspended rail arranged across the paths, wherein a suspension arrangement is provided and wherein the suspension arrangement is provided with at least one propulsion unit and a control which is provided. arranged to control the movement of the suspension arrangement in the suspended rail so that the suspension arrangement is positioned at a particular position across a path for a certain period of time, after which the suspension arrangement is moved across another path in the stable).
BACKGROUND OF THE PRODUCTION For many years, systems have been known to optimize the feeding of livestock, preferably cows and pigs, by means of feed wagons, which are suspended via a suspension arrangement in a rail system and which are connected to a drive motor. In these known systems, control units are provided for dosing individual feed quantities and for controlling the movement of the feed trolley so that it is positioned for a predetermined period of time for a particular dosing position in a path or a barn section. Examples of prior art can be found in US A 5,505,160; DK Bl 172 730 and DE Al 30 33 485.
Due to increased animal welfare requirements, it is important that the animals in a barn do not constantly hunt in their paths, for example in connection with weighing, marking, feeding, distribution of litter, cleaning the paths, gathering climate data and similar processes .
The animals get stressed if the farmer is in the path of them while the above processes are being performed. Stress causes poor living conditions and results in, for example, diseases, poor meat quality for slaughter animals, reduced growth rate, all of which ultimately strain the farmer's economy. Likewise, it is inappropriate for the farmer to move in the path, thereby allowing him to transmit infection from one path to another.
2 DK 2007 00185 U3
Furthermore, the processes are labor and cost intensive for a farmer with large animal husbandry. Although it has been known to optimize feeding through the use of skeleton-mounted feed wagons, it has not been recognized to solve the problem of animal welfare. One could say that as an unrecognized side benefit, some improvement in animal welfare has been achieved by the optimized feeding. However, for many years you have lived with problems such as stress in animals as well as human consumption due to the many other tasks mentioned which are necessary for the farmer to perform.
However, the farmer has to keep an eye on the welfare of the animals during their upbringing. Eg. he must mark the animals for slaughter, check the growth rate of the animals, optimize feed consumption and feed composition and / or identify sick animals.
Purpose of creation
It is therefore the purpose of the present invention to specify a rail system which will lead to automation and optimization of animal husbandry operations, thus reducing staff costs and increasing animal welfare. It is further the object of the present invention to provide a rail system which can be mounted in existing stables and erected in connection with new construction.
These objects are achieved by a rail system of the type mentioned in the beginning, which is characterized in that one or more of the following units are connected to the suspension arrangement: a video camera, a cleaning unit, a marking unit, a litter dispenser, a temperature sensor, a data collection unit, a a remote control unit and / or a tool holder that the control comprises one or more of the following programs: a program that determines the weight of an animal in the path, a program that counts the number of animals in the path, a program that specifies the position of the animals in the path, a program which determines the selection type, a program that delivers a certain amount of litter, a program that controls the temperature of the path, and / or a program that controls the collected data, that a switching station is provided at the end of the continuous suspended rail not used can be stored.
3 DK 2007 00185 U3
Description of the Production The following describes a rail system for use in a pig barn. It should be noted that the rail system of the present invention can be used for various other animal husbandry, for example cows, sheep and poultry.
The rail system consists of a continuous suspended rail arranged at an appropriate height across the paths so that the suspension arrangement can be moved across a certain number of paths in the stable or all the paths in the stable.
The continuous suspended rail may be suspended so that it has two end positions where intermediate suspension arrangements are moved. Alternatively, the continuous suspension rail may be annular so that the suspension arrangement is continuously moved around the stable.
In the continuous suspended rail there is arranged a suspension arrangement which is formed with a gripping arrangement which ensures that the suspension arrangement is properly suspended in the continuous suspended rail.
To ensure proper suspension of the suspension arrangement, the cross-section of the continuous suspended rail is, for example, an I, L, U, C or H profile, in which gripping arrangement is held in / to one or more of the rails of the rail profile. As mentioned, the rail system may be suspended over a certain number of paths in the stable or all the paths in the stable. Especially in large stables, several rail systems are needed in order for the suspension arrangements to reach all the paths within an acceptable period of time. Stables can also be divided into sections where a rail system is not necessary in all sections.
Suspension arrangement is provided with at least one propulsion unit which seeks for suspension arrangement to move easily and automatically around the suspended rail.
Suspension arrangement is furthermore provided with a control adapted to control the movement of the suspension assembly in the suspended rail, which means that the control can be pre-programmed, for example, with speed, position and holding time.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the control is arranged so that the suspension arrangement is positioned at a particular position across a path for a specified period of time, after which the suspension arrangement is moved across another path in the stable. For example, the control can, in a known manner, ensure that the suspension arrangement is moved over the feed and / or beverage trough of a path and stay there for 3 hours before moving on to another path.
In order to automate and optimize pig operations, various units are suspended in the suspension arrangement.
Eg. For example, a video camera and a control with a weight determination program allow you to: - weight the individual animals in a path, - count the number of animals in the path and / or - indicate the position of the animals in the path.
By using a video camera and a weight determination program, it is possible to visually weigh the pigs, thereby multiplying the stress factor usually associated with weighing. Furthermore, it is important that the pigs, when sent for slaughter, have obtained the correct slaughter weight, since the farmer is paid in proportion to the weight of the pigs and thus gets paid less if the pig does not have the necessary slaughter weight, while in return he does not get a higher price if the pig weighs more than necessary.
By using a video camera and a counting program, the farmer can count the number of animals in the path. The counting program can in one embodiment be arranged so that it can know the difference between the appearance or markings of the individual (ear or tattoos), so that the farmer knows where each pig is located. The counting program may in one embodiment be arranged so that it counts the number of selected individuals and / or the number of the differently marked individuals. That way, the farmer knows exactly how many pigs the individual weight groups count.
5 DK 2007 00185 U3
By using a video camera and positioning program, the position of the pigs in the path can be monitored, which is important for the well-being of the pigs. If the pigs in the path e.g. lying close to each other, it may indicate that the path is too cold. Likewise, a pig that is completely alone in the stool area may indicate that the pig is sick.
The camcorder may be connected to a monitor, whereby the farmer monitors the barn, for example. from an operating office, farmhouse, or other location.
A cleaning unit can be used, for example, to automatically clean the path when there are no pigs in the path. The cleaning unit may comprise a plurality of pressure coil nozzles and a water reservoir or may be connected to an external water pipe system. Furthermore, the cleaning unit may include chemical connection capability so that cleaning and disinfectants can be used in connection with cleaning the path. The movable arrangement of the suspension arrangement means that the cleaning unit can be moved around the path, thus providing efficient path cleaning.
Alternatively, the cleaning unit may comprise an ordinary pressure washer which must be operated manually, whereby the farmer must enter the path for cleaning. In this case, the farmer uses the rail system to move the cleaning device from path to path, saving time and reducing heavy / laborious work.
A selection unit can be a unit which, in combination with a control provided by one or more programs, can be used for e.g. to mark the pigs in the path depending on e.g. weight. A selection program can be arranged to use different types of selection, so that the farmer can then easily and easily sort the pigs in the path.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the selection unit is used in combination with a camcorder and a control provided with a weight determination program, a selection program and optionally a counting program which, based on the data from the camcorder, marks the pigs in a path in relation to weight and possibly counts how many pigs there are in each weight group.
6 DK 2007 00185 U3
For example, the suspension arrangement is positioned across the feed / water trough of the path for the camcorder and the weight determination program to measure the weight of a pig. Subsequently, the selection unit and the selection program can mark the animal e.g. with a specific color for each weight group (eg 80 kg. = red, 90 kg. = green and 100 kg. = blue). Lastly, the camcorder and counting program can count the number of pigs selected in each weight group. Alternatively, the selection chart itself can indicate how many different selections it has made.
The color marking is done with spray paints or crayons that the marking unit applies to the eating / drinking pig. Typically, the pig is marked on its back so that the farmer can easily see the selection.
A litter dispenser may be a unit which, in combination with a control with one or more programs, is used for e.g. spreading litter in the path if it indicates littering is lacking. This increases animal welfare, as pigs want and need dry litter to root in or lie in. The litter spread can be used to spread straw, cut straw, sawdust, wood chips, corn silage and similar materials.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the scattering spreader is used in combination with a camcorder and a control provided with a program which, on the basis of data from the camcorder, detects missing litter, wet and dirty litter and / or litter position.
A feeding unit may in a known manner be a unit which, in combination with a control provided with one or more programs, can be used for e.g. to supply a specific amount of feed or compound feedingstuffs (cereals, specialty foods), vitamins, additives and / or medicines in the feed / water trough and record any residual feed.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the feed unit is used in combination with a camcorder and a control provided with a counting program and / or a positioning program which, on the basis of data from the camcorder, records the number of pigs in the path or detects if sick pigs in the path, so that the amount of feed is adjusted to the number and / or the feed add necessary amounts of vitamins, additives and / or medicines.
A temperature sensor may be a device which, in combination with a control provided with one or more temperature programs, can be used to determine the temperature at the floor height of the path and subsequently adjust the temperature in the path.
The temperature sensor may be one or more infrared sensors, thermometers, temperature sensors or the like. However, it is important that the temperature is determined by the floor height of the path, since it is where the pigs are located, and that the temperature measurement is carried out at different places in the path, so that the temperature is adjusted to the different parts of the path. in the rest area is an optimal temperature, thereby optimizing the pigs' living conditions.
A data collection device may be a device which, in combination with a control provided with one or more data collection programs, can be used to collect various information, including e.g. the number of pigs marked, the temperature in the path, the amount of litter / feed / medicine delivered, so that the farmer can get an overview of the pigs' living conditions and thereby optimize the operation.
The data acquisition device can be connected to a computer either via a cable, wireless (IR or Bluetooth technology) or as a docking device. Which means that the farmer can store all the information collected somewhere for later analysis. Alternatively, the data collection device can store the data on a CD or floppy disk which is replaced once a day. Subsequently, this data can be transferred from the CD or floppy disk to a computer.
A remote control unit can be used for manual control of the suspension arrangement. This unit is useful if the farmer wants to move the suspension arrangement when a suspended unit e.g. must be repaired or devices must be moved from one path to another.
The remote control unit may be wired to the suspension arrangement, thereby moving around with the suspension arrangement, so that the farmer DK 2007 00185 U3 8 must be near the suspension arrangement to move the suspension arrangement in the suspended rail. Alternatively, the remote control unit may be a wireless device (IR or Bluetooth technology) whereby the farmer can remotely arrange for the suspension arrangement to move in the suspended rail.
5
A tool holder can be used for storing implements so that the farmer does not have to carry the implements from path to path, which means less load and ensures easy and quick access between the individual paths. For example, the tool holder may comprise tools for casting pigs, cutting tongs for the tail and teeth, and similar implements.
The suspension arrangement can also be used as a crane. For example, a waist, a pulley, a rope or the like can be suspended in the suspension arrangement, whereby dead pigs can be lifted from the path to the stable area.
15
In order to obtain a flexible rail system, the system preferably comprises a shift station which may be located in the area of the stable where the various units which can be used in connection with the suspension arrangement are stored when not in use. This means that the farmer can easily and quickly change the function of the rail system by moving the suspension arrangement to the changing station and replacing the suspended units as needed. However, this change of the rail system's function can also be made automatically. Furthermore, the switching station can be used for filling the units, inspection and repair.
To drive the suspension arrangement around the rail system, the arrangement comprises a propulsion unit, for example in the form of an electric motor, which receives power from a replaceable and / or rechargeable battery unit arranged in connection with the suspension arrangement. Alternatively, power can be provided via a cable. The electric motor and / or battery unit may receive power from the suspended rail, which in one embodiment of the present invention is live.
9 DK 2007 00185 U3
An electrically driven engine is preferred as it does not cause major noise nuisance or contaminates the air in the barn, but alternatively the propulsion unit may also be a pneumatic, hydraulic or fuel driven engine.
